ASPCA (View Website)
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.

So far, 2,567,436 people have fed rescued primates 29,023,898 times
About rescued primates
The commercial hunting of bushmeat in central Africa could lead to the loss of several species, including chimpanzees and gorillas. The Jane Goodall Institute recognizes the immediate need to protect the victims of the illegal bushmeat trade - orphaned chimpanzees who are typically sold into the pet trade after watching their mothers being brutally killed.
About the Jane Goodall Institute
The Jane Goodall Institute advances the power of individuals to take informed and compassionate action to improve the environment for all living things. The goal of JGI's Africa programs is to ensure the long-term protection of wild ape populations and their habitat in natural host countries in Africa, while preserving biodiversity, cultural traditions and livelihoods.

How your clicks help rescued primates
The Jane Goodall Institute has created three sanctuaries in Africa (Congo and Uganda) housing more than 200 orphaned chimpanzees in total. These sanctuaries provide a safe refuge where chimpanzees can be cared for and given the chance to live reasonably full lives in spacious conditions.
It is an important policy of the Jane Goodall Institute that sanctuaries should not only serve the needs of the chimpanzees who live there, but that they meet other objectives as well;
To bring tangible benefits to the local communities, by employing local staff and buying all fruits and vegetables to feed the chimpanzees from the local markets.
To become centers for educating and engaging youth and communities in their environment.
To work for the preservation of primate habitat and the protection of remaining chimpanzee populations and other threatened species in the wild.
Your daily click helps JGI feed these rescued chimpanzees and support local communities. Learn more about JGI's primate rescue and reintroduction programs.

So far, 2,481,006 people have provided 10,460 months of wolf adoption
About gray wolves
Wolves were once common throughout all of North America but were killed in most areas of the United States by the mid 1930s. Wolves are listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act throughout much of the United States. The most common cause of death for wolves is conflict with people over livestock losses.
About Defenders of Wildlife
Defenders of Wildlife works to protect and restore America's native wildlife, safeguard habitat, resolve conflicts, work across international borders and educate and mobilize the public. Defenders of Wildlife has been a leader in wolf conservation since wolves first appeared on the federal endangered species list. Defenders played a crucial role in the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone National Park and central Idaho in 1995.

So far, 2,623,044 people have clicked 28,701,914 times to fund IFAW's efforts to help end the Canadian commercial seal hunt
About the seal hunt
Each year, hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals are slated to be slaughtered on the ice fields off Canada's east coast for their pelts. Over 95% of the seals killed during this hunt are just weeks old.
About the International Fund for Animal Welfare
From its founding, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) has drawn international attention to the plight of the seal pups and successfully rallied worldwide condemnation of the hunt. Thanks to IFAW's continued vigilance, it is now illegal to hunt whitecoat seal pups for commercial purposes on the ice floes off Canada's east coast. This is a fragile victory, however, for Canada's commercial seal hunt persists. IFAW continues to press for an end to this cruel, unsustainable slaughter.
Over the years, the small team of committed campaigners reaching out to help seals has grown to become the world's leading international animal welfare organization. IFAW begins its fourth decade of operation with more than 200 experienced campaigners, legal and political experts, and internationally acclaimed scientists working on projects in 40 countries around the world.

You can show your support for our advertisers by clicking on their ads. Care2 pools all of the daily donations and delivers these funds to IFAW on a regular basis.
How your click helps seals
IFAW has documented hundreds of examples of seal hunt cruelty, from seals being hooked and dragged across the ice while still alive for skinning, to others being shot in the water and dragged by hooks on to the ice, with no attempt made to check for consciousness. By exposing the shocking cruelty of the hunt, IFAW is generating global support for a ban of seal products and an end to Canada's commercial seal hunt.
Your clicks make it possible for IFAW to keep fighting to ensure we pass historic legislation to ban seal products and end the hunt worldwide.
In fact, in January 2013, Taiwan joined 33 other countries who have restricted trade in seal products by passing legislation that bans the sale of seal products. Learn more about this victory here.
