Volunteer Affordably

Volunteering

Many people who have done it at least once in their life say volunteering is one of the greatest experiences.
There are numerous opportunities for volunteering anywhere, anytime. There are organizations that organize the trips, accommodation, work, and catering. There are some governmental/municipal organizations where you can go and ask if you can volunteer; examples include Animal Shelters-it could be great  experience to go to a shelter for dogs and spend a Sunday there- as someone said, “One would always find more than what he/she seeks in a trip in nature.
A trip to Africa with the intention to help conservation efforts in terms of wildlife or a nice school-building in Peruvian mountains or teach to pupils somewhere in Asia could be great experience. You can check the opportunities online: You must go to the website of the UN first for reliable results.
However, there are too many organizations that charge too high costs for a 2-week volunteering program that you can spend your money in a  5-star hotel in the same location from time to time.
Here, on these pages, we will try our best to help you with the good opportunities of volunteering worldwide.
Volunteer in Ukraine in the Village of Yushki
Yushki is a village situated in the countryside of the Ukraine’s capital of Kiev in 2-hour distance by car or bus.
It was one of our best experiences, as we like nature a lot. The village of Yushki is extremely quiet, surrounded by lakes and forests.
The young people from mainly Kiev have come together to establish the Eco-center in Yushki. As a legislative rule-probably from the Soviet times- every Ukrainian person is entitled to a piece of land. So, Andrey Bobrovidskiy the founder of the Eco-center found the beautiful place of Yushki.
The volunteers mainly stay in a house in the village. The center is situated at about ½-hour walk. It is a wonderful and thrilling experience to get there in the evening or at night by getting out of the village and find the center passing through fields, forests, and roads.
You can plant your tent in the center which is growing day by day. Our visit was several years ago about the autumn time. They might help you with a trip around the area. You can mainly do daily jobs as well as some handicraft and pottering. Some of the young ones enjoy eastern philosophy. Whatever they believe, they are really calm and harmless people loving and enjoying nature. They are really helpful too. They do not accept alcohol in the center probably because of the fact that a lot of people in Ukraine decisively don’t like alcohol; which is a long story.
Many years after our visit, the center won the National ENERGY GLOBE Award Ukraine 2014.
Yushki must be on the bucket list of  volunteers.
