Dog meat
trade is responsible for the decimation and consumption of about 30 to 40
million dogs in Asia per annum.
Arguably,
humans usually consider the carnivores living on land inedible and avoid eating
cats, dogs, lions, tigers, etc. under normal circumstances.
Yulin
festival in which countless dogs and cats, many of which are the stolen pets of
people, are consumed is so arbitrary
and artificial that it has been in our
lives for only 5 years- it started in 2010 by the endeavors of dog meat mafia
in China.
It is
considered hateful by many people; see an article about it here. People from
all over the world, including numerous heroes in China and other Asian
countries, welcomed this event and its incredibly violent ways of entertainment
with so big hatred that it has been the talk of the town for the people with
conscience all around the world.
Dog meat
trade and festivals like Yulin must end as soon as possible. 2016 will be the
stage of other atrocities toward the pets but there is a chance that the
leaders might handle the issue in 2017.
Benefits of
dogs for humanity have been numerous for centuries. If these atrocities are not
stopped, the world will be the place where about 3 billion “best friends” will
be decimated. Countless cats must not be overlooked. Keep in mind the sense of compassion
they would deliver to people!
We brought
together the things to be done to stop Yulin and other atrocities; please act
as much as you can to make Yulin and others history by 2017.

3- Sign Petitions
As the matter is so serious and to
be stopped as soon as possible, signatures are storming to the Asian officials.
See the Petition-related posts in our Blog. You can also use Change.org, one of
the most extensive platforms handling the issue.
You can also use https://www.epeople.go.kr/foreigners/pps/pps.npaid, a South Korean petition site that Koreandogs.org (Att. Graphic images!) recommends and that is oriented mainly to Asia.

4- Help the NGOs
One of the nonprofits that really
handle the issue is Humane Society International. You will find sufficient
information about the ways of help.
5- Raise Awareness
Discuss the horrific issue with
everyone. Many people do not know of the issue yet. Explain them in details
after your search on the web.
6- Use Pet Forums
to Let the People Know the Issue
Pet forums are usually crammed with
people concerned about their own pets but they are in love with animals.
Numerous forums do not discuss the issue. You will find many supporters (and opponents).
7- Remember
Pets are never meant to be eaten. It
is the duty of all of us to deal with the issue. We need billions of pets among
us to continue to spread happiness. So, you can discover the ways you can
volunteer according to your comfort zone and opportunities.
