Volunteer in the Wonderful World of Soi Dog Foundation
Soi Dog Foundation has been on our focus
for a long time as it is getting more and more popular in its rightful fight against
atrocities toward dogs, our wonderful friends in life.
We see that Soi Dog Foundation occupies
significant place in Youtube searches relating to dogs. They are working hard,
producing a lot of benefits, and updating lots of content.
We have not
volunteered with them yet but we know how great shelter volunteering is. And we
understand from the talks of the people volunteering there, it is just a highly
relievable place to volunteer.
We have also
reviewed their website. The numbers they provide on their website are really remarkable.
Hope for the dogs in the world, particularly Asia, is rising.

Shelter
volunteers: The primary role of a volunteer at our shelter in Phuket,
Thailand, is to socialise and walk the dogs, as well as socialising the cats
and puppies. For dogs and cats at the shelter to be adopted into homes, it is
essential to teach them to trust people and to teach dogs to walk on a lead.
Almost all of our animals are
former street dogs and cats who have never been indoors and need to learn to
feel comfortable around people. Socialisation is especially important for shy
animals and those who have been abused. Many adopters say their new companions
are very friendly and comfortable with them, even as soon as they arrive from
Thailand – this is because of shelter volunteers.
We strongly encourage volunteers
to spend a month or longer at our shelter. When volunteers stay for at least a
few weeks, they build close relationships with the animals and you can see them
become more bonded to people. We particularly need volunteers who enjoy giving
tours of the shelter and talking with visitors.
